Elevating a hip Sydney boutique hotel’s signature bar, the go-to venue
What we did:
Website design and development
After we developed the QT brand and launched hotels brand in Brisbane, Melbourne and elsewhere in Australia, the focus moved to engaging the cities’ trend-setters, and opinion leaders to become advocates and loyal customers. The obvious place to start was QT Sydney’s hotel’s signiture bar and bistro. Simply promoting the bar itself, no matter how ‘cool’ the vibe, decor and ambiance, would come across as advertising and selling. To be truly desirable, something more compelling and original was needed to create special buzz in order to draw the right people.
Rather than focusing on the bar itself, we decided to make the ‘arrival’ a unique and fun experience. We programmed the hotel lift to recognise how many people were in the lift and to interact with them as they entered or left the lift. A pre-recorded commentary alongside relevant music tracks a one-of-a-kind experience and became a star attraction for F&B guests. Watch the video below to appreciate the experience. PR, WOM, social media and UX produced huge online and press coverage as well as outstanding footfall. The interactive lift experience was extended to the newest hotel in Melbourne with equally positive results.
